  436.        As of MIPSpro 7.2, the IRIS Developer's Option (IDO) CD was
  437.        replaced by the IRIX Development Foundation and IRIX
  438.        Development Libraries CD sets. Whereas, IDO was an optional
  439.        product for purchase, the IRIX Development Foundation CD's
  440.        and IRIX Development Libraries CD's are available free of
  441.        charge and will be distributed with future IRIX releases.
  442.        This enables developers to use the Free Software
  443.        Foundation's gcc products.

  446.        1.4  _S_e_p_a_r_a_t_e__P_a_c_k_a_g_i_n_g__o_f__C_o_m_p_i_l_e_r__F_r_o_n_t_-_e_n_d__P_r_o_d_u_c_t_s

  449.        Each MIPSpro compiler product comes with its own CD which
  450.        contains the appropriate compiler front-end as well as the
  451.        IRIX Development Foundation and the IRIX Development Library
  452.        CD sets.  Each of the MIPSpro languages are packaged and
  453.        sold separately. The MIPSpro Compiler 7.2.1 products

  483.        As of the MIPSpro 7.2 release, the MIPSpro C, C++, Fortran
  484.        77, Fortran 90 and Auto Parallelizer compiler products come
  485.        with a software license enforcement mechanism. WorkShop and
  486.        WorkShopMPF are also licensed. This CD set contains version
  487.        3.2 of license_eoe (for IRIX 6.2, 6.3, and 6.4) which is
  488.        recommended for use in conjunction with the compiler
  489.        products.

  492.        1.6  _M_o_d_u_l_e_s
  493.  
  494.  
  495.        The MIPSpro 7.2 release (IDF 1.0) introduced the Modules
  496.        package (created by John L. Furlani). The Modules
  497.        environment works in conjunction with MIPSpro 7.2 compilers
  498.        (and above) installed under a location other than the root
  499.        directory (/). This alternate location can be on another
  500.        local or remote filesystem.  Approximately 300 Mb of disk
  501.        space is needed for an installation of one compiler
  502.        (including header files and libraries) under this location.
  503.        The exact sizes of the compiler subsystems can be seen under
  504.        inst or software manager.
  505.        At this time, only the compiler and default SpeedShop images
  506.        can be installed under this alternate location. A new GUI
  507.        based SpeedShop image (SpeedShop.sw.sscord) and product
  508.        images, such as the Insight books, license manager,
  509.        WorkShop, and images from the IRIX Development Libraries CD
  510.        should not be installed under this alternate location.
  511.  
  512.        The sequence of steps for installing and configuring modules
  513.        is described in the section titled "Modules Installation
  514.        under Alternate Root" below.

  544.           runtime libraries, patches 2416, 2758 2759 and 2773
  545.           contain new revisions of these libraries. They include
  546.           bug fixes as well as new interfaces for multiprocessing
  547.           as well as new runtime libraries for the that are
  548.           required by the 7.2.1 version of Fortran 90.

  550.           Patch 2773 contains the new multiprocessing interfaces
  551.           and is required for development and execution of programs
  552.           using the OpenMP interfaces.

  554.           Patch 2758 contains the new C++ libraries.

  556.           Patch 2759 contains the new Fortran libraries that are
  557.           required by the 7.2.1 version of Fortran 90. Patch 2759
  558.           must also be installed if the -craylibs option is used
